General Instructions

1)   All medicines are to be prescribed in generic names only.

2)   Indent should be placed as per the items of the list enclosed and in generic names.

3)   Henceforth a single indent containing all the required items is to be submitted to CMS       instead of two separate indent.

4)   I.M.O’s and I.M.P’s may prescribe medicines for 5 days if necessary.

5)   Items marked with single asterix-sign will be meant for hospital and Specialist use only.

6)   Items with double asterix-sign will be served only from hospital based S.D/R.B.O.

7)   I.M.O./I.M.P. should not prescribe two antibiotics at a time except Item No.19.

8)   Anti-cancer drugs are to be supplied to ESI Hospital Sealdah only.

9)   Antitubercular drugs will be supplied to Belur ESI Hospitals only.

10) Rotahaler machines and Anti-Rabies Vaccine will be supplied to the hospitals only.

11) Superintendents of ESI Hospitals and I.M.O.-in-charges of S.D’s will ensure the receipt       and utilization and to make entries to stock ledgers with due attestation of the same. He       will arrange for verification of the book balance with that of physical one under the       supervision of medical officers who also will countersign the record, at least twice in a       year.
